Thinking European – Europe Direct Campania informs

Among the core activities of the Europe Direct Vesuvian Area centre, transparent communication and the promotion of European values are top priorities. In order to provide comprehensive and widespread information on opportunities, policies and programmes of the European Union, we work together with the other Europe Direct centres in Campania (Naples, Caserta and Salerno) to implement a joint project: the “Thinking European” newsletter.

This network-based initiative aims to bring the institutions in Brussels closer to citizens, local authorities and young people in our area, translating complex topics into clear, accessible and easy-to-read analyses.

A monthly appointment to discover Europe

Published monthly, with a total of 12 issues per year, the newsletter provides a structured overview of different thematic areas of the European Union. The “Thinking European” newsletter is organised into the following main sections:

NEWS from Europe: legislative updates, European directives, tax measures for businesses, and consumer protection strategies.
ENVIRONMENT: the section curated by EUROPE DIRECT Vesuvian Area, focusing on Europe’s green transition: news on the ecological transition, resource reuse, marine protection, and best practices from sustainable cities.
YOUTH WORLD: calls for applications, illustration competitions, writing workshops, and opportunities for young start-ups and creative professionals.
EUROPEAN VOCABULARY: a guide to key EU terms, created to make new European concepts, tools and strategies understandable and accessible to everyone.
THE CENTRES INFORM: a section dedicated to the local initiatives of the four centres (Naples, Caserta, Salerno and Vesuvian Area), ranging from information desks to film programmes and events across the area.
DEADLINES: a regular noticeboard featuring career opportunities and open competitions at EU agencies and institutions.

Our contribution: a commitment to the Environment

As part of this collaboration among the four Campania-based centres, EUROPE DIRECT Vesuvian Area is specifically responsible for the section devoted to the broad theme of ENVIRONMENT. Through this section, we monitor and report on the concrete impact of European green policies on our local area, promoting sustainability and the protection of our natural heritage.

The newsletter can be accessed on the City of Naples website or through the social media pages of the EUROPE DIRECT offices in Naples, Salerno, Caserta and the Vesuvian Area.
