"Ne Vedem Joi": The Music Festival by EUROPE DIRECT Paesi Vesuviani

"Ne Vedem Joi"—which means "See You Thursday" in Romanian—is the music and cultural festival organized by EUROPE DIRECT Paesi Vesuviani at its Info-Point in San Giorgio a Cremano. The initiative features a series of six concerts by local and international artists, typically taking place throughout May and June.

This project demonstrates how Europe Direct centers can provide high-quality spaces for civic engagement, cultural growth, and community gathering. It aims to solidify San Giorgio a Cremano’s position as a key regional hub for culture and European identity across the Vesuvian area.

Now returning for a new edition as part of the center’s annual communication strategy, the initiative weaves together music, storytelling, literature, and diverse traditions, creating an inviting atmosphere open to the entire community.

Each evening is designed as a moment of cultural enrichment and dialogue, where the universal language of music serves as a vehicle to promote and share the core values of the European Union. Free and open to the public, the event places a strong emphasis on fostering intergenerational and intercultural connections—engaging citizens of all ages, creative and cultural industry professionals, youth, students, and seniors alike.

Through a participatory cultural approach, each session highlights local talent, nurtures active citizenship, and brings culture closer to the community, raising awareness of European values and deepening mutual understanding among different cultures.

The 2026 Edition

The 2026 edition of "Ne Vedem Joi" kicked off on May 7, hosting weekly events every Thursday:

  • May 7 – Cartoline, destini d'incontro (Postcards, Destinies Entwined)

    An intimate musical narrative blending singer-songwriter traditions with acoustic arrangements, featuring multilingual lyrics that evoke emotional landscapes and diverse cultures.

  • May 14 – Per la Voce che Abitiamo (For the Voice We Inhabit)

    (Rosanna Mennella, Aldo Capasso, Pasquale di Lascio)

    An exploration of vocal and instrumental dynamics, bridging raw vocal expression with rich rhythmic and harmonic textures.

  • May 21 – Karakal

    (Alessandro Morlando, Ubaldo Tartaglione)

    An original soundscape combining guitars and percussion with psychedelic rhythms and powerful emotional resonance.

  • May 28 – Ahlam

    (Elvira Maione, Luca Cioffi, Alessandro Morlando)

    Mediterranean influences, expressive percussion, and vibrant vocals accompanied by a live dance performance.

  • July 3 – Addati, Bianco, Famulario, Kalani (Bonus Session)

    A fusion of saxophone, electronics, acoustic instruments, and sound design—spanning ambient, drone, and experimental jazz.

The series will conclude with a final meeting scheduled between September and October 2026, wrapping up this year's program.
